After some really touching feedback from :iconcandykins: I was re-inspired to draw, and have another attempt at this idea. Here's the 2nd attempt in watercolours [link]

So with new motivation and enthusiasm I went back to the yellow and red rose idea, but again tried something new with it, this time coloured markers.
I know the coloured markers give it a different feel/mood than that previously created with watercolour washes, but in the end I feel it turned out well. Although the balance between red and yellow leans towards more to red, slighlty effecting the overall meaning... (for a more detailed description of the meaning read the description in the link above)

The coloured markers are fun to use, they have created a vibrant range of colours with just 4 pens. however the scanner hasnt scanned it very well the yellows may be a bit hard to see, and some of the reds look a bit more orange than red... I tried to fix it in photoshop, dont know if it helped much.

I absolutely love the colours, blends wonderfully and the details of the flower, I think you did it finely and it looks pretty and amazing!

Nice! Awesomeway of coloring the rose. The color strands look wild as swirl and tangle arounfd each other if you know what I mean.

thank you, it was a little different way to colour it, but it turned out alright in the end.
I know what you mean about the swirls, thanks, it helps give it the round for of the rose. :)

I don't know what to say to your such nice comments. It makes me really happy to know it keeps you smiling :)
I'm glad you like the colours, unfortunately the colours dont appear as bright and vibrant as the do on paper.
I'm happy that you like this so much, and thank you for giving me the inspiration/motivation to draw it, I really enjoyed it!:)
